New Feature on Site!
March 31st, 2008 8:37 PM

I am happy to let everyone know of a new feature on my website, the home price index.  This feature will give you an approximation of what your homes current market value is based on the aveage appreciation your zip code has experienced since you made the purchase.  It will give you a good idea of how much the value of home has increased.  This is a great tool if you are paying PMI and waiting until you have 20% equity.  You can opt to recieve an email with an update once per quarter.  If you are thinking of moving give me a call and I will be happy to prepare a market analysis on your home.

If anyone has feedback on the new feature I would love to hear it.

Phillies 2008 season opener
March 31st, 2008 3:37 PM
Today the Phils open against the Nats.  I really looking forward to a great season.  I think the NL East is going to be one of the best divisions in baseball with the Mets and Braves both looking good.  Let's hope everyone stays healthy and this is our year for some Wins in October!

Compact Fluorescent Lights
March 25th, 2008 2:42 PM

Did you know - By replacing 20 light bulbs in and outside your home with CFL's can save you an average of $180 per year???  Replacing these same 20 bulbs will also prevent 1686 lbs PER YEAR of pollution from entering the atmosphere!!!  For an average cost of $100  - your investment in CFL's will pay you back in energy savings THE FIRST YEAR!!

Really, you have no excuse!  Just DO IT!  Spend the time, buy the bulbs, and HELP MAKE A DIFFERENCE.  CFL's can be found at just about any grocery store, Home Depot, Lowes, Wal-Mart, and many other fine retailers nationwide.  I purchased mine at Home Depot and they work great.  They do not flicker at all. They can also be found many places online, including my favorite, GreenLightsUSA.com,   They have a great selection of bulbs to meet every need in your home, and a calculator to help you determine your annual savings, and how much pollution you will prevent by replacing bulbs in your home!

If anyone has had good or bad experiences with a particular brand please feel free to post about it.

Save Water
March 21st, 2008 8:28 PM
The average toilet uses 5-7 gallons of water per flush.  By placing a brick in a plastic bag in the bottom of your toilet tank you will save approx a 1/2 gallon of water per flush.  For a family of four with 20 flushes a day that would save 10 gallons per day, 300 gallons per month or 3600 gallons a year.
