Delawareans in the Olympics!

Congratulations to Delaware high school products Carrie Lingo of Cape Henlopen and Katelyn Falgowski of St. Marks for their performances for the United Stated field hockey team in the Beijing games.  The Americans finished 1-1-3 in pool play and did not advance to the to the medal round.  It was nice to see some local kids compete in the games.  I'm sure the atheletes nd their families will never forget the last 2 weeks.

Olympic fever!

Is it just me or have the 2008 Beijing games been about the most captivating television you can remember?  I've never really been in to any Olympics prior to this year and now I'm watching practically all of the events.  Swimming, beach volleyball, gymnastics, water polo, even team handball.  The games have been fantastic since the opening ceremonies.  Hopefully week 2 will be just as exciting.

New Castle County, DE 2nd Quarter MarketWatch report.

Here is a snapshot for New Castle County, Delaware home sales for the second quarter 2008.

The number of homes for sale as of June 30th was 4747 compared to 4408 in 2007, an 8% increase.

The number of homes sold year-to-date 2368 compared to 3570 for the same period in 2007. A 34% decrease.

The median sales price for the quarter was 234,000 compared to 240,000 for same period in 2007, a 2.5% decrease.

The months supply of inverntory is 8.8 months compared to 5.1 months this time last year, representing a 72% increase.

The average time on market was 68 days compared to 47 days same period in 2007, a 45% increase.

Blanton gets first start as a Phillie.

I'm looking forward to the Phillies/ Mutts game tonight.  It's Joe Blantons first start in a Phillie uniform and talk about being thrown into the fire.  Tied with the Mutts and Johan Santana gets the nod for the bad guys.  Blanton has never given up a run to the Mets in 15 career innings.  Let's go fightn's!
