Wilmington Open House

The city of Wilmington is holding an open house event on Sunday, May 18th.

If you are in the browsing stage and looking in the city, Sunday will be a great chance to see some homes for sale. The News Journal on Sunday will have listed the homes with open houses scheduled.

If you can not make Sunday and would like to arrange a showing at another time feel free to contact me for an appointment.

Mench to Blue Jays

Kevin Mench, a St. Marks and U of DE alum, was traded from Texas Rangers to the Toronto Blue Jays on Friday. In 6 years in the bigs Kevin has 89 career homers with the Rangers and Brewers. In 04 and 05 he hit 51 home runs. Let's hope he can provide the Jays with some offensive pop. They need it to compete in the AL East. They have one of the best rotations in the majors.

Run for the Roses

Today is the first leg of the triple crown of horse racing. The Kentucky Derby.

The field is full with 20 mounts. The favorite is Big Brown at 3-1 but he drew the 20th post position so I'm throwing him out. I'm going with Colonel John at 4-1 with Tale of Ekati at 15-1.

Delaware Parks best Jockey will be riding Monba at 15-1. Sounds too much like MBNA for my taste. Good luck if your betting!

Wilmington Flower Market

The Wilmington Flower Market returns to Rockford Park for the 88th annual event on May 8-10 from 10-7pm each day. The event includes crafts, food, rides and music. Admission is free.

Great win for the Phils!

What a big 9th inning or the Phillies last night. Pat the Bat is probably going to have an MVP type year and cash in on another huge contract then go back to hitting .230. I really like the Feliz pickup. A winning April will be huge. Flyers are looking great and the Sixers are in the playoffs. Good times for Philly teams.
