Number 8: Star Wars
November 9th, 2007 4:06 PM

Star Wars was my favorite movie as a kid.  I enjoyed the entire series of Star Wars films but the original is easily my favorite.   Obi-Won Kenobi played by Alec Guiness is the highlight of the film to me.  We will see Mr. Guiness in the number 7 film as well.

Get some popcorn and enjoy!

Number 4: The Godfather part II(1974)
November 29th, 2007 2:45 PM

Godfather II is the only sequel ever to win the oscar for best picture.   DeNiro won best supporting actor in the role of Vito Corleone.  It is also the only time that 2 different actors each one Oscars playing the same character.  Marlon Brando won the award in the original Godfather in his role as Vito Corleone.

Great movie.

Market Conditions
November 26th, 2007 11:12 PM
Home Inventories in New Castle County are at the highest point in years right now.  At the end of the 3rd Quarter approx 4400 homes were for sale in the county, up 17% from the same period in 2006.  The months supply of inventory is 8.2 months up from 5 months for the same period in 2006, and the average days on market was 52 days up from 41 days in the 3rd qtr 2006.  Rates are still at historic lows.  These conditions make it a fantastic time for renters to become homeowners, investors to add to portfolios and people looking to trade up

Number 5: High Noon(1952)
November 24th, 2007 7:38 PM
High Noon is my favorite western of all time.  Gary Cooper plays the lead character, the town Marshall who is set to retire and marry the beautiful Grace Kelly when he finds out the Frank Miller gang is going to town for revenge.  The town and bride to be urge Cooper to leave town before the Miller gang arrives.  In the end, the Marshall is alone.  The film won 4 oscars in 1952 including best actor for Cooper.

number 6: The Big Lewbowski(1998)
November 19th, 2007 12:41 PM

Cohen bothers classic!  Great cast, great story.  Jeff Bridges plays "the Dude", John Goodman is Walter Sobchak and Steve Buscemi plays Donnie, 3 bowling partners that get caught up in a plot to kidnap The Big Lewbowski's Wife Bunny, played by Tara Reid.  This is one of those movies that I watch whenever its on even though I have it on DVD.

Although it did not win any academy awards, it did win the Golden Aires award for Best Foreign Film in Russia.  Which is nice!
